If you scalp Olympic tickets off the street don't get ripped off.

If a spouse or partner drags you to 2010 expecting you to immerse yourself in Olympic Spirit, but you're not a sports junkie, take solace. There are many cultural events you can enjoy together, or on your own.

While your armchair jock overdoses on long track or curling, you can feed artistic senses and enjoy performances by local and international artists. The Olympics doesn't attract A list artists, but B listers abound a plenty.

Choose from theater, gallery, song, dance, museum, and more.

The options are endless and varied, but keep in mind the quality can vary considerably, so before you shell out big bucks to see Olympic mascots line dancing on ice, do a little homework.

Some of the events will be close to your hotel, but many will be in the outlying areas and cater to locals, so plan well. A half hour jaunt during normal times can easily turn into a three hour Olympic marathon when you figure in security checkpoints and very congested roadways.
